Phase one: rough clean
This happens once major construction work wraps up but before finishing touches are complete. The goal is removing bulk debris - packaging, offcuts, visible dust - so trades can finish their work in a safer, more workable space. It's not a finished result; it's a reset before the final stretch.
Phase two: detailed clean
This is where the real work happens. Construction leaves behind fine dust that settles into vents, light fixtures, window tracks, and corners long after the visible mess is gone. A detailed clean addresses:
- Dust removal from vents, ledges, and light fixtures
- Window and glass cleaning, inside and out where accessible
- Floor care - stripped and sealed if needed, or a deep clean for existing flooring
- Cabinetry, counters, and fixtures wiped down inside and out
- Washroom fixtures cleaned and disinfected before first use
Phase three: final touch-up
Scheduled as close to opening day as possible, this pass catches anything disturbed by other trades finishing up - flooring installers, electricians, furniture delivery - after the detailed clean. It's shorter than the detailed clean but timed specifically so the space looks its best for opening.
This is also the point where post-construction cleaning transitions into recurring service, if that's the plan. An initial deep clean sets the baseline; the final touch-up is effectively the first day of that baseline.
